There is nothing more essential to American politics than a debate between two opposing, but equally informed and passionate positions. In its purest sense, the results of such debates, such conflicts, are the only nurishment that sustains democracy.

The goal of Civic Rule is not to persuade but to inform. To provide a place where people who enjoy a fair and balanced, albeit messy, democratic process can come, roll up their sleeves, and talk politics. To bring the power of the civic voice back into the political arena by providing comprehensive, factual information about current events, as well as ways to get involved and be heard.

As should be expected, I have my own opinions, but will attempt to the best of my ability to stay neutral when posting factual information and clearly label my opinions.

The greatest threat to democracy is not the opposition, but any effort to create only one voice.
